Painting front bumper cover

Now that my cars going to be in the shop cause of an accident, has any painted over the black strip on the bumper cover for the 1st gen to match the same color of the bumper. Can you post pics of can someone photo shop it for me.

The term we use around here for that strip is the Mustache, because if you think of the headlights as eyes and the emblem on the bumper as a nose it makes that stripe look like a mustache sitting right over the mouth of the car.

Anyway, lots of guys do it, most common paint change on a 1st gen 3/S. Just search for something like "painted mustache". I personally have been filling mine in, layering coats of filler on and letting them cure for a week (I travel a lot) I have about 2 or 3 more layers until the mustache is smoothed and then the car goes for paint. A couple people have filled it as well, similar search "filled mustache".
