I was curious if anyone else has had this problem. Where the ram air ducting is under the hood, the top of the hood above that is sagging it looks like I have a dent on top of my hood! I have some pictures and I will upload them later. Guys if this has happened to you how did you fix it! I have only had the hood for maybe a month!

you could have accidentally gotten one of the 1 off's that Ryan is selling for less money. he said they came off the mold too green and they were layed on the top and have a dip right behind the front vent. i'm sure if that's the case ryan would replace it free of charge. how bad is it? is it straight carbon fiber with gelcoat or is it fiberglass painted? you could easily fix a fiberglass hood and repaint it.

this was not oneof the greenhoods. it is painted fiberglass its pretty bad, and its not that easy just to repair and repaint. considering that with hood and paint I already have over 2000 dollars in it. the paint is a tristage ppg pearl, and with racing stripes, which are paintedso you cant feel the the difference between the two colors. the paint has to be blended into the fenders and front bumper. so I want to avoid repainting at all cost.

shoulda examined the hood before you did the work huh? haha; did the sagging occur AFTER the install and paint? could have been something your body shop did. check for swirls or smmmaaaallll scratch marks around and on the area; maybe your body shop laid something on top of it. either way, i'm surprised ryan hasn't answered yet.

Ryan informed me that it happens and I need to heat the hood and try pushig the deformities out. Which scares me that my paint might get screwed up. I did not check the hood before prep though its hard to see improfections when you not looking at a glossy hood. If I have to I will modify the hood and make it correct. THough it will be a large undertaking. Still there is something wrong with the hood, and I feel that either cianci or my body shop should fix it. I shouldn't have to pay anymore money or do any work as far as that goes. Again though if anyone has experienced these kinds of problems please let me know. thanks.

Well, Im sorry to hear you are having problem's with the hood. The first hood we sent out was our fault, and I did promptly replace the hood at no cost to you because of it being pulled too green from the molds.
I spoke with the lady at the front of the store just to make sure everything was great with the replacement hood. I did personaly inspect the replacement hood to make sure there were no problems with it. The reason I say they can sag around the duct area on this hood or any fiberglass hood is because it doesn't have a under structure to support it up. That being said even if the hood was perfect from us and from the body shop, heat, or preasure from an item being left on the hood while its warm can cause that part to dip in. I recommended re-heating that area and trying to slowly work it back up. Fiberglass retains a memory in the resin and will go back to its original shape when it was first cured. While I sympathize with it being a show car and wanting everything to be crisp. Composites are a crafted part, and we try to make them the best we can, but circumstances around the normal can affect the product in many ways.

Ryan I again thank you for being fast and prompt with helping me out. I'm going to take back to the shop and have them look at it. I noticed it soon after I got it out of the shop. I hope that heating it will fix it, but I dont think it will. If it doesn't I'm going to have to find a way to fix it. I only hope that it doe not involve paint, other wise it isn't happening, and I'm going to put my stock hood back on until I can come up with another 1000 to get it fixed and painted. Though to spend 3000 dollars for a hood I must be completely insane. Oh well only time will tell!
