Default metal polish?

Guys I have tried everything, mothers, meguiars, water/vinegar, armor all, the list goes on. I can not get the water spots off the polished metal in my engine bay or my rims. When I was getting it tuned we took a wet towel to cool down the engine and the excess water left spots.

I tried using 4-5 applications of the mothers mag/alu polish and it doesn't do a damn thing. Any suggestions?

I heard CLR may cause swirls in the polished Aluminum, any truth to this? I am going to try Flitz, CLR, an dSimmachrome this weekend when I go home. I'll report back on my results as I want my engine bay to look mint.

This is what I have used to polish metals, very useful in polishing carburetor parts.
