I am taking my car to a professional painter in tn (my dad).
He has been retired for 5 yrs so he dosen't know what the best stuff is now. I will only be there for 3 days so I will need quick dry thinner. Also he mentioned getting buffable clear? I don't know jack about painting but I want the best base/clear system available. Show car style. I want the factory color also. Its a 92 vr4 red. Do I need to look on the door to find the paint code?

For durability and quality, I'd suggest going with PPG or House of Kolor for your base/clear 2-stage paint system. Sikkens makes a very high quality paint, but it is very delicate and not very practical on a summer driver. I don't really know of a quick drying primer, so hopefully someone familiar with paints will answer that question better.
