Hey guys,
As I mentioned in another post, I'm looking at importing a 94 GTO, once they become legal in June. Until then, I'm just sitting, waiting and dreaming. One of the ideas I'm throwing around is doing a conversion to a Stealth. Swap out some body panels, steering wheel, spoiler, and other non-Stealth components, replace them all with parts from a 2nd Gen R/T TT. Hopefully, this will give me one of the few RHD Stealths in North America, and probably the only 2nd Gen RHD Stealth ever. So, I've been trying to think of all the parts I'd need to replace, think you guys could help me out? How much fabrication would be involved? Is it worth it? What do you guys think? -Devan |

Fixed. There are a few threads.. even some very recent involving the switch from 3kgt to stealth & vice versa. Nothing is tooo involved. They are the same body after all. Your hardest feat IMO will be to find 2nd gen parts. Good luck. |

the sail panel area will give you the most difficulty since the rear windows are located in different areas. that should be the only hard part. All other body panels are swappable.
![]() the red car is a vr4 the white one is an R/T stealth you can see the difference of the sail panels there.

Here is a pic of the sail panel on a 3000. The tiangle piece of metal has to be removed. You can see here I was drilling out the spot welds. I think I had to drill a few holes when I installed the stealth sail panel. I converted my 1g stealth TT to a 2g 3000 vr4 and my 2g 3000 base to a 1g stealth tt body.

i've seen several stealth-to-3000gt conversions but have yet to see a 3000-to-stealth, but i'm sure it can be done. (oh wait my bad, 2F2F but thats hollywood with a body kit so it doesn't count)
Now if you really want to go for RHD its your game but i wouldn't recommend it. passing people would suck and all around ya. parking would be wierd...

Financially, it just makes sense, as long as I can find and afford the parts to maintain it. I have too many friends who have bought Celicas, R32s and Fairladys because they got them cheap, but are paying hundreds to import the replacement parts. That's why I'm glad the GTO/3000GT are so similar.... -Devan |

This is going to end badly. Just buy a local TT. I've seen RHD GTO's in Canada before, just buy one there. Not to be offensive, but you seem like you don't have much money, correction you seem very cheap. I think this is the wrong platform to get into if that is the case. BTW RHD gets old really fast. |

well i dont think he is looking for advice on doing this swap or not. I think he was just looking for information on doing the conversion. So lets go ahead and focus on the initial question and keep our opinions to a minimum.
Sail panels for the interior and exterior are going to be your biggest issue. I can hook you up with some of the parts needed when you get started on your project |
