Black Beast Rebuild 94%
|
So I was cruising one day and met up with a local with a 3kgt. He pointed out his freshly painted wipers & cowl. I never really thought anything about mine but I knew it looked bad. Chances are, yours are in rough shape too. So the project began.
What you need:
Remove your wipers with the 12mm. You will need to mess around with the hood position a bit but nothing difficult here. Take out the 6 phillips screw holding the cowl in place (hood down.) Take off cowl (hood up.) Prep for paint with either the scotch pad or sandpaper. Wipe down with rubbing alcohol. Tape up rubber piece on cowl. Paint & reinstall. Be amazed. I always forget to take before pics.. here's the best I have: ![]() Completed: ![]()

Part-out IN PROGRESS!!
|
I've done that before, saw a very noticeable difference!! One other thing I was able to do was the section on the rear hatch between the windshield and start of the paint that was faded bad from the sun; just taped it off and sprayed = money. It made my black car look way more black
Actually come to think of it, I need to do this on the stealth ![]()

I did the same thing, except with Rustoleum Satin Black. Like yours the results were great!
If you have access to a sandblaster I'd definitely shoot some grit on them, it helped mine for sure. The most important thing is prep - any solvent will do, acetone, xylene, alchohol, etc.
