I actually picked up a Cianci Victory hood for my '99 and absolutely love it. I think it was so worth it as it turned the car much more mean looking. Add an eyebrow kit and a front lip, lowered with rims and that would be more than enough.
It is also about the small details. I have wire mesh in the side skirt vents which I think add quite a bit, so maybe just tweak out the stock look and not try to change the beauty of the car. Just my thoughts... |

Yeah, 99's are sexy stock. I think the 3SX front lip adds a lot without taking anything away from the already great looking front bumper. That is the best option to add that something extra to the 99' front ends. Feck a body kit. As far as the eyelid mod .....Stop stealing my shite! Nah, it definetly adds a lot of aggressiveness again, without taking away from the stock appearance of the car.
People ask me all the time "what kind of body kit is that on your car", I tell them I don't have a body kit and that the car is pretty much all OEM parts [back when I just had the stock hood with the eyelids done to it], and that the only "aftermarket" part on the car was just the lip that was added to the stock front bumper. To which most go down the list asking if each part is OEM "The wing is stock" - Yep, came on all 99' vr4's stock", "The headlights?" - "Stock headlights just modified a bit", "are you sure the front bumper is stock?" - "Last time I checked, like I said I just added the bottom lip to the OEM bumper" - "And the hood?", "yep.... again, modified, but stock. ![]() Eyelids and lip ![]() 1 piece lip with eyelids on stock hood on left, 2 piece lip w/575 hood on right

I would just some minor stuff the 99 is just too beautiful looking to mess with unless you have a certain look you're HAVE to have. Besides that way you can use the money for some more "go fast" stuff haha.

If I were you, I'd do this:
1. Sell the '99 VR-4 for some ludicrous price. What're they fetching...25,000? 30,000? 2. Buy a 1st or 2nd gen VR-4 for less than 10,000. Spend like 15,000 (or more) on anything you want. Novara kit, widebody, you name it. Just, don't do that stuff to a true '99. Just my opinion. |
