Default Re: Will a FWD trans. hold the power of tt?

my tt swap has eaten three FWD trannys, an axle, the splines inside my spec stage 4 clutch, and a kormex diff....

when going N/A-TT, expect to find weak points in drivetrain.

Ya even if you don't do a tt swap if you continue to beat on your fwd tranny you will blow your diff and it is only a matter of time. Do a search for "blown Differental" and you will find a ton of people that have issues with blown diff's including myself ;-(. Took 2 years to get myself a replacement tranny and after I got it in and 5 days later spun the bearings. ahhh i'm depressed now.

wow i found it. i need a little bit of help with this also. i did the tt swap 2 weeks ago and it was a 93 tt trans converted to a FWD. im strting to run into some problems here, sometimes when i hit the gas hard in 1st or 2nd after the clutch is engaged it feels like the axles are slipping in the trans. it shakes the whole car about 5-7 time really fast and its really loud, it sound like pops. im so confused of what it could be. here are my mods if that helps.
hks intake, downpipe, bov
stage 4 clutch
please help i dont want to keep driving it if something really bad is going to happen. if you can call so i can explain whats happening a little better that would be great, my name is nick 7578711496.

Is the clutch fine? Could be the clutch chattering. Axles cant slip. They either work...or they break (since they have splines teeth that mate to another surface. If they slipped that means they are broken. That also means your car wouldn't be able to move under its own power.).

That or you are wheel hopping. You didnt describe why you think the axles are slipping.

That would be wheel hop. I had that pretty bad on my '93...maximals solid motor mounts fixed most of it.

From the PM he sent me, he likely has a clutch problem too (it has gotten worse).
