Default swapping tranny internals

Ok so i got a 95 3000 but i guess because of some bad motor mounts, the engine and tranny are coming apart causing all kinds of other problems, it seems where the engine/tranny coupling bolts go into the tranny have stripped out, i have a 91 parts car and my question is can i switch out the internals so i can continue to use the 27 spline shafts and my known working transmission internals into the tranny bellhousing from the 91? is that possible? or does anyone have any better ideas? i also have an lsd not the real ones but one of the spring ones in the 95 tranny, could i swap that over too? anyhow any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

If you've got a parts car, just swap the whole tranny and shafts into your running vehicle. shafts are different for early years, and the diff is bigger in later models (hence different spline shafts). I wouldnt think the internals would be completely swappable between the two.

Yeah the only problem with that is minus the stripped threads on the bellhousing my tranny is in much better condition Also the parts cars axles are bad 2 so I'd be buying new ones there also any one know if swappin the internals is possible? If not I might just run longer bolts on the bottom half where it's stripped 2 the other side and just put a nut or 2 on there if there ends up being room for that. Any ideas?

that spring lsd "adapter" might be what is causing all your problems. what those do is shoot their springs out to force one wheel to slow down and lets the other wheel receive power so both are getting almost equal power. but this puts a lot of stress on the tranny because the tranny is trying to spin the wheel and the spring is trying to stop it. i've heard stories of peoples trannys going out 10k after throwing one of them in.

I don't know anything about the tranny internals though. sorry

I swapped tranny internals from a 91-92 FWD into my case, however, i used my differential and the big gear its sitting in (so my axels would fit). The two shafts come out with everythnig on it, and go right back in to the other one. Just be careful, dont drop anything into it, keep it all clean, and make sure you put everything back. Theres a website floating around if yuo need help on how to take the transmission apart if you need help ill look for it.

I forgot, youll probably need to use the shoft forks from the new one too (pop the pins out, slide them off the shaft, put the new ones on and pins back on) the old ones will be a different size.

EDIT: just realized this thread might be a bit old, hope youve figured it out.
