Default loud pop...CV??

Hey guys....I have another problem....when Im travelling at a constant 50mph or so then have to come to a stop for a light...i get a loud pop from the left handside, down near the wheel...could this be the cv or drive shaft about to die?

On a side question, could a bad cv or drive shaft cause the car to feel like it is towing 3 caravans??? ahahahah

I am AWD and I get the same popping. I also have no idea what it is. I'm figuring it has to be a CV joint / axle ... but no confirmation on that.

try slowing down, and then coming to a full stop with your handbrake. if you can take off without popping, then it's your brake pads sticking to the rotor and popping loose as you start to move.

i've got cheap-o autozone pads on my DD, and they pop from a dead stop all the time.

Mine does it only when I brake REALLY hard, or sometimes when I come to a stop then put it in reverse. Hawk HPS pads and carbotech rotors. Is pad stick a bad thing?

The pop actually occurs as I slow down...not take off.....although I do sometimes get pops as im moving and taking off...
