Default ATX to MTX conversion cost?

After some time thinking I realized that its not worth building up an atx trans ... a trans cooler, shift kit, and high stall torque converter would total up to around $1000. Even after all that I still would not be as fast as an mtx. A tt engine swap is also out of question its just too much of a hastle and the ripps supercharger is a p.o.s (I have a sohc btw).

What would it cost to convert an atx to a mtx???

seriously though just a list of parts off the top of my head would be a manual trans, the whole clutch assembly, pressure plate, shifter cables, clutch master cylinder, lines, flywheel, tcu, and i know there are alot of other parts im leaving out.

That is a lot but I'm certain that its been done before I just can't find any topics about it or the cost.

I would be able to get most of those parts (in decent to good condition) if I find a part out.

You need the shifter assembly, shifter cables, brake and clutch pedal assembly, slave cylinder, master cylinder, lines, starter, passenger axle, drivers side intermediate shaft, starter, flywheel, clutch kit and of course the trans.

Thats a lot of things but if I find a parts car with all of those things then I'd be in luck. You also said in this thread that a mtx swap would be better then building an atx.

Would you still recommend an mtx swap > building an atx?

why not do a TT conversion with 9b's @ 8 PSI (not engine swap but conversion) and just throw on a tranny cooler? You could do that for a grand and be way faster than an N/A MTX.

Staying NA, yes. THe NA's just do not make enough power to compensate for the long gearing of the ATX trans.
