95 Auto Questions - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

I have a 95 3k auto that went completely out the other day. I was acting funny about 20mins before and would only shift if you manually shifted from gear to gear. At this point I own two money pits with blown trans (my 3k and a 92 galant vr4) so I am looking for a cheap fix so I can sell the car without taking a bad loss.
So here are my questions.
1- The ATF is the color of used motor oil and it will not go into any gear. Is it rebuildable? if so how much work is that? (I am pretty handy I swapped that engine from a 94 3k I had and just did the timing belt, water and oil pumps)
2- I have a few local pick and pulls that I walked looking for stealths or 3ks and heres what I found.
93 stealth SOHC
91 3kgt
Unknown year 1st Gen 3kgt
Unknown year Early Second Gen 3kgt (missing its torque converter)
Are any of those worth picking up for $100?

for a $100 i would say yes if you going to replace it your self if you know what you are doing.

the problem is that i have no idea what transmission will fit and what might need to be changed if i use a 1st gen trans in a 2nd gen

Don't they have a 2nd gen tranny or only 1nd gen? Do you access to ( all data ) it a software that give you the brake down of a car. I go to the library and they have it there on there computer it all free, it show u how to replace the tranny you can print out a 1nd gen and a 2nd gen one and try to compares then see if there the same.

there is a second gen at one of the yards but it is missing its torque converter and may not be a 95. I read that there are differences in the tcm between years. I have looked everywhere for a reference source for the part number to compair but since i only own macs i cannot run the Mitsubishi CAPS program.

yeah you need a windows ask a friend or check at the libuary sometime they have alot info there or call the dealer maybe they can help you it better to go in and talk to someone in the parts dep.
