Default Will someone please explain how you get AWHP numbers?

I know that all wheel horsepower is measured differently than rear wheel horsepower...but exactly how is that number calculated? Is the AWHP number just the measure of how much HP is in the front or rear wheels? Then adding them up would give you the equivalent number for RWHP????

Horsepower is calculated from the torque applied to the dyno rollers.
Torque in ftlbs is multiplied by rpms and then divided by 5252 to equal horsepower. Look at any dyno chart and torque and horsepower are always equal at 5252 rpms. The difference in wheel speed and engine speed is also factored out.

i usually hear about 25%, so i'd say 20-30% would be a good guess

So on a dyno, a carbon fiber drive shaft should literally give you more horsepower because it makes it more efficient? Wonder else could be lightened up fairly easy?

lets say ur car has 400 crank hp, which is the horsepower measured at the crank, before the drive train loss, which is really hard to measure. Now, after about 25% loss you put down probs 300AWHP on the dyno. more or less. now say you put in a CFDS or an aluminum flywheel, lighter rims, they will not increase your crank HP, it will still be 400, but you may raise your dyno numbers a little bit, dropping the % loss with each upgrade. so you after all the lighter upgrades, you may dyno at 320AWHP-ish (not sure on exact numbers). make sense? those upgrades wont give you more hp at the crank, but more to the wheels.
