Default Why no scatter shields?

Why is it that Evo's, Dsm's, and even neon srt-4's get scatter shields but not a thing is made for us?

Because no one cares. Somehow the fastest cars on this board manage to get by tech inspection w/o needing IHRA/NHRA required equipment. Tech inspection is tough around these parts. I started an interest thread a couple years ago and got zero interest... not going to sell very many of them if no one cares...

I'm not so much worried about tech inspection as having a clutch come flying through the firewall..

I have never seen that happen on a 3s. I think the main reason is that even the high power cars, 1000+ horsepower, arent turning more than 8500 rpm. That coupled with the indestructability of a getrag 5-speed and your set.

If that is all you are worried about then grab a spare bell housing and take it to your welder to have something fab'ed up. It wouldn't cost much more than the price of a dsm/evo unit and would give you some peace of mind...

Good question. I haven't heard of a 3S flywheel exploding though. I have seen vids of DSM FW's exploding, and saw a exploded PP first hand.

Did a search, only came up with a Stealth ES FW exploding.

I think if our cars were prone to it, people would have a different attitude towards it. A FW explosion causes a MASIVE amount of destruction.
