well i put my 1997 vr4 with only 38000 miles on jacks with only the front two wheels up. i am able to spin the wheels and the other wheel spins in the opposite direction. Is this ok or am i screwerd, i thought u werent suppose to be able to move the wheels at all!

That's just the front differential. You need to have someone on the other side spinning the other front wheel the same direction as your spinning your side (like as if the car was rolling). Then there should be some resistance.
On my Mom's car I always forget to loosen the lug nuts before I jack the car up and once it's in the air, good luck getting them loose!
