Trany misc.(?) - 3000GT/Stealth International Message Center

(?)-What are the gears,sliders,and hub are made out of?
---steel, iron, other ?

Thought I'll ask before doing something. I'd planed a "custom dogbox" awhile back and need to know want these are made out of before cutting and welding anything. I'll just throw something together and see if it works. This will be factory replacement!!--No serious power!....for now.

so r u like a machineist or soemthing? I'm jsut curious, cause a gear box isn't just "welded" together, its engineered hardcore. But I am all about gettin parts for these tranny, so I'm curious to see what people can come up with.

Just a CAD designer.... I'm doning an experiment with my trashed gears in my 6-spd. I'll try to keep the costs low for the "little man." Well its more like a "face-plate", I'll put it on my old gears to see if that works.--And for there, I'll combine it with the whole gear as one-piece, with/wo straight-cut gears. Designing that gears wont take long since gears was the easy to design in school. The sliders are easier.

So.....Any comments on my question?
