btw is there a way to tell if the tc is messed up and caused it, or if its the tranny thats bad and nothing wrong with the tc. i guess what i'm saying is even if you've got to take the tc off is it obvious that its toast.

Ya, it's easy to tell if the TC is toast. Before you take it in drain the oil out of it. if there is any. If ther isn't then that for sure the problem but if there is it might not be. If you drain it though they might just assume that it's fried and not take it apart to check.

i got a 91 vr4 and i cant shift into 3rd could it be a result of the transfer case? will they do the recall on it?

im the 2nd or 3rd owner

who do i call to find out if its been done

Call the dealership, give them your VIN # and they will run it. This will tell them if the recall has been done.
