Yes, I do. The car is usually stored in Oak Lawn. I am started to become frustrated with it lately as you can see. It was never abused, always babied, and has low miles. I was thinking of cutting it loose in favor of a 350z soon but am not sure. It depends on how ridiculous this whole T-Case situation gets with the stealerships.

Doesn't matter if the recall was done, if its leaking, it is covered under the recall.

I had my recall done last fall and a brand new t-case was installed. Lately I've noticed my brand new t-case leaving oil stains in the garage

And on a side note, I just had my recalled transfer case fail on me last month. I was driving down the interstate and all of a sudden, boom, all 4 wheels lock up. Luckily, I was able to steer it to the side of the road without killing anyone. Since all four wheels locked up, AAA wouldn't and couldn't even tow the car. So I called my wife and she brought me some tools to remove the transfer case so I could at least move it. So I towed it home and then called Dodge a few weeks later. I told them that this is my 2nd case, as it had already been recalled, and that I had to remove it from the car. The lady at Dodge said no problem, just bring it in and "we'll take care of it". So I tow it there, and the next day I called up to find out they will not recall the case because I had pulled it off myself. They claimed I had voided the warranty even though I couldn't even move the car to get it to Dodge in the 1st place. So I was pissed off that the lady had me even waste my time towing it in there. So I end up calling Dodge corporate, and talked to a guy named Robert. He told me that this recall was for the life of the car, and that they had to do it. So he called the dealer for me, and apparently, the Dealer absolutely refused to do the recall. I was on the phone for 1 1/2 hours while he talked to both his manager and the dealer. As first, Robert said there was nothing he could do, and when I heard that, I asked to speak to his manager. So when I talked to his manager, he then told me that I could purchase a new one, and then I could be reimbursed after sending in the original receipt. He also said I could call around to see if any other dealers would do it. So apparently, every dealer is different on how lazy they want to be. But in the end, it sucked to waste all of that time, and also having to cough up the $900 for a new transfer case. But at least I can still get reimbursed for it. I feel better doing it myself anyways as I don't trust Dodge working on these cars. So just a word to the wise: if you have this happen, don't remove the transfer case yourself. Let the monkeys at Dodge take care of it and hope/pray that they do it right.

Hello Group
I am looking to buy a older 3000gt VR or Stealth and reading about the TC recall was wondering what should I look for in a potential car? Are their specific years I should avoid. How long is the recall good for from the build date of the vehicle? Thanks |
