I had the recall done about a month ago. 1991 Stealth they pulled it apart resealed it and gave me the keys. They also said if it leaks again bring it back and they will talk about a replacement.

just check it to see if its leaking. if its not keep an eye on it. ive seen too many go in not leaking and then come out with a leak. dealer says fuck off. its been done. not my problem.

every once in a while you find a good dealer who knows better and will take care of it if it leaks again.

i was told that if it continued to leak they would replace the xcase. So essentailly they fix it till it stops leaking unless it caused by somethign other than the transfer case. Mabye i just have a good dealer.

yes you do have a good dealer. there have been many posts about this and then being refused service after it locked up or started leaking after the recall.

So i just bought a vr4... lucky me i couldnt make it the 15 miles home from the dealership that i bought it from b4 the TRANSFER CASE blew. This of course was a lil scary seeing as i was on the highway!
The dealership quoted me 2500 but was willing to do halfsies on it since i just bought the stupid thing.
After doing some research i called MitsuAmerica; they told me that the TC was replaced under recall in 03, and if the part busted again it was not under the 12 month/12000 mile warranty and that they could not replace it again.?!?!

Other guys on this site have said that they have had theirs replaced multiple times by the dealership....
SUGGESTIONS?????

Im catching hell from the dealerships around Atlanta Area. My TC IS leaking and starting to whine a little. I have called and called but they say it came into service in 03' and that they have no responsibility with it anymore. They only did a visual inspection of the TC and didnt re-seal it or replace it.

What should I do now?

I am having the same problem, dealer only wants to reseal it. I told them that there was a service done to the transfer case in 93, but they dont see it on the warranty history, so they wont change the transfer case, but for some reason mitsu headquarters sees it in theres. And to top it off it was leaking , hope everything comes out ok ill let you guys know.

Got the car back, I actually picked it up after the dealership closed(heavy traffic on the highway, flooding and stuff). I looked under and it looked clean, so this morning I look under and guess what, I see drops, I told myself I knew this was gonna happen I knew it, I called the dealership, but everyone but one service advisor left. She told me call monday. I hope they dont give me bullshit about, no warranty or whatever. They better not argue when I say I need a new transfer case. urrrrrrrrrrgh so mad!!!!

I dropped my car off today and they said they are replacing the TC, but none are available anywhere in the country and they're out of production. They placed an order but said they have no idea when/if they're going to get one.... they'd better, because mine is whining pretty well and I am going to be pissed if it locks up on me. Anyone else heard this? Any idea what kind of wait time I might be looking at?
