I was under my car again this weekend and my T-Case appears to be leaking again too. I JUST had the whole transfer case replaced about 6 months ago. I haven't called the dealer yet, but this is total fucking BS. They should fix the problem and not just say, well we looked and it was working at the time. I will file a complaint too if I can't get it repaired again.

Man, I am sorry to hear about all the problems people are having with the t-case recall. I guess I was lucky with getting mine fixxed on 2 separate occations with out fuss.

I wish I could help you all out more than I have in this thread, but I just happened to be the guy that was contacted after making a t-case complaint several yrs ago. In return, I relayed the info here on the board.

Currently, my 99 hasn't had the recall done. I'm currently waiting for a leak before ever having the recall done.

I know it sucks, but just use all the available resources you can. Wish I could be more help guys & girls, I really do.

It should be covered under the 12 month/12000 mile warranty in your case.

wait wait so if i understand this right i have a problem that the sleeve inside the tcase and the output shaft tore eachotehr apart leaveing them both with no splines so is that due to the lack of lube to them or is it a whole nother problem if so i get it covered under the recall right?

my car has gone thur 4 transfer cases in 1 year before i got one that didnt pour fluid. now it is just a slight dribble. I think mine's still leaking because i over filled it a little bit. Each time, it took me a little while before i would get a t/f case. something about the one in my car isnt the same kind that was put in the car factory.

but i was told unless the spline gears taking eachotehr out was becasue of the lubrication problem it wouldnt be covered now is the reason the spline gears on the input and output did what they did caused by the recall problem?

the spline gears dont mean that there is a lub prob. typically a worn output shaft is from excessive launches and or prolonged wear. granted if a t/f case locks up, yeah your splines would be fubar'ed

so if they only sealed the case when I took it in for the recall, and now there is a problem that requires the TCase to be replaced, am I SOL?

When I had my 91 VR4, I took it in for the recall, they replaced the ring. 1.5 yrs later, leaking again, they fixxed it again, no questions asked. But, there have been a lot of people who have been denied a 2nd service. I would call the dealer, complain nicely that it is still leaking, the problem was not fixxed the 1st time & see where that gets you.

Hey Thanks for the info. I wish it was just a leaking issue, but actually something with the gears or whatever is broken, and the whirring grinding sound is terrible. I don't forsee being able to convince them to replace it under the recall, even though that would be the most appropriate outcome instead of the $2K serivce bill...
