Well a quick call to Mitsu of America indicates the TC recall was done on March 29, 2004. She said it was just a one time recall, and it's no longer covered. Boo!

That is obviously impossible as the recall only came out in 2002. Show them the recall from the nhtsa web site

I didn't read through every post of this, but if you go to Dodge.com you can check to see if the recall has been done on your vehicle. Just click on the tab that says "For Owners" and it will ask you for the last 8 of your vin #. I just saw that mine hasn't been done...

Depends on if youe car has had it done. The dealer will have to run your vin number. I had mine done twice with no problem, some people have had issues with Mits. honering the recall.

Well, I am having my 60K done as we speak, and I get a call from the mechanic who says that my transfer case is leaking. He is a Mitsu master tech who is doing it as a side job for me. He says that it shouldn't be a problem getting it done. The prior owner said he took it in for the recall, but it was inspected and deemed okay. I hope this does not count as having the recall done. I am sure the stealership is going to try to claim it was done based on that one inspection. My car only has 57K on it... Hopefully, I won't have any problems. Any tips?

Just read the entire thread. Great information. Well, the bad news is that I ran my VIN on the Dodge site to see that there are no outstanding recalls on my car. The dealership must have closed it as a "no issue" when there was no leak found the first time it was inspected back in 2003. I am having the Mitsubishi mechanic call his service manager friend over at Dodge to see what the typical protocol is. The mechanic says that the T-Case is currently not making any noise and believes that they will most likely just reseal it if I can get them to reopen the recall on it. Should I demand a new T-case be put in? Is this even possible at this point considering the age of the car and recall date for them to honor it?

Does mitsu have where you can enter in your vin to find out about open recalls? Oh you live in justice not far from me.
