hold them to it then. let them know they they are contributing to your danger and that it holds them responsible.

I really dont know why you are having such a haard time. Ive done it 5 times already. 3 in a row on just one car without any ordeal, or documentation on my part. i had one stealership tell me know and then i went over their head to corporate. No more problems. Ive also had one crap out on me on the HWY. Got it fixed for free to...and it had already been replaced by the previous owner. You get the idea?

Its only going to go somewhere if you make it go. try another dealer if you can. Thats all i got bud.

guys I have a jap GTO... and when I went to my nearest dealership they said I can't do the recall because it's japanese, they said that they can't even do it if it comes from the states.... so does that mean I'm screwed unless I pay for a new tranny case?? HELP because my mechanic already told me that my tranny case is leaking and is rusty as hell inside...

This will help.

Go to PrePaid legal.com and register for a one month at a time subscription..takes 5 minutes. Then you can access the assigned law firm to your state, for no charge consult. They usually will then send a letter to the dealership with the recall facts and advise them to do it to protect them from future liability. One letter from a good law firm usually changes the dealership's mind on refusals. Total cost to you; $17.00 for PrePaid legal. The company has been around for ever, employers use them as a benefit for employees, it is reputable. I use this service and have had great success.

I will have to try this. Thanks for any advice. Reason for not going to another mitsu dealer yet is because the next closest one is about 50 miles. But if the legal thing dont work then its off to another dealership

wow, just saw this post! Considering I'm still new, I'll have to research this forum more often.

So apparently this recall is still going on, huh? There is no way I was going to spend hours if not days catching up on whats up. Can someone quickly summarize what the deal is and what is covering. Are some getting new trannys from this deal?

For those that dont know me, I bought Terry Kerns VR4. I'll have to ask him about this to see if he had anything done or if needs to be done?

Angelo
