I'm having problems contacting people right now but hopefully I will get through tomorrow and see what's going on. No word from Dodge yet. After I contact Transport Canada again I'll ask a couple more questons and then call TV stations.

Well, after a little bit of digging, here's what I've found so far for the US side:
Chrysler Customer Centers: 1-800-992-1997 1-800-423-6343 (1-800-4-A-DODGE) I've been told it's a crap-shoot to call them. You might have to call back a few times to talk to different people, so I'll be doing just that later this week. Chrysler Customer Care (be sure to CC JD Power and Assoc) PO BOX 302 Centerline MI 48015 I've been told that letters get lost in numerous black holes there at DCX, though. DC (DaimlerChrysler) President, FAX: 248-512-1746 (prolly will be read by assistants, so who knows what the odds are about getting it to the actual pres) DC CEO (US), FAX: 248-512-5143 (again, more than likely will be read by assistants) - - - I will keep gathering sources, and will send a campaign all out at once. Incidentally, if you choose letter correspondence, be sure to carbon-copy JD Power and Associates -- DCX has really been touting their rise in CSI (Consumer Satisfaction Index) lately, so that will likely get some attention. I also have a contact at Automotive News, a very popular automotive publication that is required reading for many auto execs here in Dearborn. I'd like to submit some of this information to them as well, and see if they'd be interested in a little feature on it. - - - My biggest motivation is that, yes, if your transfer case dies and causes an accident, surely you'd go after the manufacturer tooth and nail for repercussions, since they've admitted to a design flaw. But what happens if your TC happens to fail at 70/80/90 mph -- you may not SURVIVE such a catastrophe. I personally don't want to take my chances. Prodding along... -Rich |

Canadians...FYI. I just called Daimler Chrysler Canada. The recall was approved today in Canada!! Good news. It finally came through, on the VIN lookup at the dealer also.
Call Daimler Chrysler Canada. (recall B17) and they will tell you to call a local dealer so they can order parts... Dailmer Chrysler Canada: 1-800-465-2001 edit: talked to Daimler Chrysler Canada again. They said the recall has indeed been launched, and dealers will be receiving notification letters in the next few weeks, to advise them of repair instructions. how can I / We expidite this process?
I doubt they will send cards to all the 3si owners. Is there a form I need to download and fill out, or a phone number to call to get my name on a list, or my name on a complaint list / waiting list to get new parts installed? mine is leaking as well. thanks |
