The current recall on 91 models should be done again under a new recall number when it's issued. This is only Transport Canada that I talked to. You might want to cantact him when I get the number tomorrow and see if he knows who to call in the states for help.

Wow, this is dead. We are never going to get anything done. Mitsubishi is not going to do anything. We have all been waiting for 10 years to get the problem fixed.

But if Canada does support the recall and starts doing some repairs, we can use that to pressure Dodge/Mitz here in the States.

Ok... If your TC is not leaking they won't do anything until the recall comes out from Dodge. The number for Transport Canada is 1-800-333-0510 and you will want to talk to Nigel Mortemer. There's another guy there that's dealing with our problem but I never got his name when I phoned. If you get voice mail go back to reception and tell them you want ot talk to recall people and they will put you through.
Good luck, hope this helps. This should be for Mitsu to. You'll have to phone and ask...
Make sure you have your VIN # handy when you call or he won't be able to do anything until he gets it.

This is just my first step.. I'll give updates this week when Dodge calls me and if they don't call me by about Wed I'm going to start calling them again. If they still say they're not goignto do anytihng then I'll call Nigel back and see what he says. If that turns up nothing then I'll go back to my other idea, TV.

If ANYONE has a postal address to someone 'higher up in the food chain' at either Dodge (Chrysler) or Mitsubishi, I will be more than happy to start a few letters to them.

I'd like to avoid entering in at the customer service level, since they're not going to do much besides tell me that there is no recall for us.

And I'd like to avoid having my attorney enter into it at the legal level, because that would just lead to one letter after another being sent back and forth for the next 12 months before we even get in contact with anyone in power over there. (Not to mention at $175 per hour, it'd likely cost me a lot just to get to that point).

But I'm about fed up with the bureaucratic delays on their end, and I think we have a legitimate complaint here -- not to mention, I'm getting sick of hoisting my car up every 2 weeks to top off my transfer case.
