Hey Skywalker...
any chance that your blown output shaft was caused by a leaking transfer case?? Mine went too (splines were all stripped) just wondering if it something i can clainm on the recall).

Well, my T-Case exploded... it has a hole in it. I'm assuming it's because one of the bearings went through it, because it was leaking so badly.

I went over to Ken Garff Southtowne Mitsubishi and told them about my problem. The guy didn't seem to know what I was talking about, but he agreed to have the dealership flatbed it in, and then do all the recall work (including the brake hoses).

Now I get to wait, hope, and pray that they fix it.

What's the deal with the brake hoses? When I do a vehicle search in the NHTSA database ( http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/proble...alls/Index.cfm ) the only thing I find for a 1995 3000GT is the transfer case. If I do an equipment search under Mitsubishi, I only find Galant. The only other type of searches are for "Child Safety Seat" and "Tires." Does this brake hose recall include the 1995 VR-4? When was it issued? Does anyone have a link to this recall or any other information?

If you look at the years from '94 back it shows up. You are searching by make and model right? I looked at 92, 93, 94 and saw it, but it did not show up in '95.

Thumbs up

Hey guys and gals, well I just called. Good work on this Peggy.

I'm thinking that since this thread is so long a lot of people stopped reading. So that means that they're not calling. Well, coping an idea already used here, I put the info in my sig. Hopefully some more people will see it that way.

If anyone else wants to add it to their sig I'll include the location. Just replace the "< >" with "[ ]" http://images.cardomain.com/installs.../205736_33.jpg

So Lethal, would that mean that the brake hose thing wasn't a problem in '95s and later and therefore not included in the recall?

I'm jealous you have a Fiji blue car. That's my favorite color. But I love my car anyway.

I just filed my complaint and also talked to Scott Young . He said he has had a few calls on this car today . So keep the phone calls rolling in . Something good is bound to result from this . Even if you don't have a transfer case problem - call anyway . It will benefit everyone .

Fiji Blue was my ultimate VR4 color and I just had to have it.... I was willing to spend more for that color and when finally found a decent one I just had to buy it.

On a related note Todd95VR4 I would think that it would mean that the brakes hoses were not a problem on 95 and above, but being a 92 owner that is just a guess. I would search the board or call some dealers (I recomend calling more than one, sometimes they will lie to you to get out of warrenty work!).

Fiji Blue Owners are the coolest!

Default I agree

The dealerships will lie to get out of doing the warranty work. They get paid alot less by the warranty company than they do by the retail consumer. It is total BS.
