So far I haven't had any problems with my transfer case, so I suppose I can't call to complain if I don't have anything yet to complain about, right?

Default how about stealth?

Do we file the compliant to Mitsubishi even if we own stealth not VR-4? Just want to make sure before I file the compliant.

Nark--you are filing with DOT, not Mitz. I have a Stealth and the recall applies to us, also.
Todd, I'd still call, cause you would be covered. Your problems may start later, and you need to be on record.
Thanks, everyone, for responding so quickly. We will get this done yet!!

Wait a minute, please correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's a safety related recall issue, I do not believe that your transfer case needs to be leaking at all to be covered. The recalls are issued to prevent FUTURE problems, so they'd prolly require all cases replaced whether they are leaking or not. Am I wrong about this?

NickC, I believe you are correct. Just like with the front brake hose replacement recall, mine were fine but they replaced them anyways. They had to because it was a saftey recall.

Default Called To File

I just called to file also. Hope this helps. I have my car taken apart right now, and do have to replace my output shaft on the tranny. It would be great if they replaced the transfer case so I wouldn't have to as the input collar is worn down.
