I called the mitsu dealer over by me and they said there have been talks of a recall but haven't recieved anything official from Mitsu. So at this point they said they aren't replacing any tcases. Can someone post a recall # when its available. I need some amo when I drive down there
Just curious w/ recalls in general, do I need to register my car w/ Mitsubishi to get recall info?
I bought my car from a Chevy dealership and it didn’t really get in their system cause I found out b4 anyone else did. So if someone isn’t actively searching for recalls, like on this board how do they find out about them?
Mitsubishi Issues a recall #, that # gets sent to DOT and then to the dealers. So, when it's issued, and you own a 92 - 99 VR4 you can have the service done, no matter where you bought the car. Eventually, you can call Mits. they will have the recall info.
We have to wait for an official Recall # to be issued. With-in the Recall # is a detailed description of what the recall is, how to go about having service, etc. More than likely, you will have to have the Dealer do the instalation, do to insurance reasons. They afford a lawsuit if they hand you the t-case, and you install it wrong. Not that you would, but you understand. The recall description should also state wether or not; If you have bought a t-case in the past, and it was with in the 10, you might be able to get Reimbursed.
So, if you have a 95 VR4, you might be able to wait till 2004 to have it replaced.
As soon as Eduardo calls/emails, I will pass on the info. I really don't know much more than you all. So, just be happy (those who this recall applies to) kick back & relax. I or someone else will let you all know
This will apply to the RT TT Stealth's too RIGHT??
We BETTER be included!!! My xfer case is leaking a bit too I believe, not badly though.
Ok, so if we have a RT TT do we HAVE to take it to a Dodge delearship or can we have a Mitsu dealer do it for us? I dont think the local Dodge shops have much experience with our cars. . .
