Whenever im shifting hard, u hear a thump, sounds like it comes from the rear differential. Also from a stop, when i start mocing i hear a thump from the rear differential it sounds like also. And i also hear a thump if im just costing, and i lightly take a gas a pit and let off. Is this a sign of a transfer case goin bad or does it deal with the transmission at all? Thanks

I kinda hope that it is the transfer case that i can get fixed for free, instead of the trannt which can cost a lil more than free

Default Same here

I get the exact same thing. I've heard it may be the transfer case. My gut feeling is that it's the rear diff, just because it does feel like it's behind me, but I'm hoping it;s the TC too. Better odds it'll be fixed cheaply. Aynyone else know anything about this or some way to check it out on my own?

I also get the same thing when I'm in reverse and hit the brakes quickly.

Unhappy recall update

Call Dept of Transportation today, to touch base and see what is happening. Basically, nothing. The original contact, Eduardo Aviles, is no longer with DOT and I talked to Scott Young (same phone number: 202-366-6761). He did not know what I was talking about, but said he would research it further. Guess if DOT doesn't know anything about it, that may be why the dealers don't know anything.
Keept your fingers crossed, and maybe if lots of us call and complain to Scott, things will get rolling again.

Some of you guys complaining about thumping and clunking when hitting the gas... you might need new engine mounts.

I just got a new engine mount a coupld weeks ago, and the thumping is coming from the back of my car, sounds like its coming from the rear differential
