Default Hmm...... Stupid dealers

Today is saturday. I went to my first Dodge dealer which is about 20mins away from me to check on a recall, yeah great, the service department doesn't open on saturday. So I went to another Dodge dealer which is 40mins away from my house. I showed all the websites and recall infos and they said they never heard anything about recall. Also they told me even if they call recall, I will not be able to get it fixed... What the hell. What kind of recall is that... I got really pissed at the dealership and on the way back I stopped by at mishibishi dealer to check if they got any info on VR-4. Same thing. They said they never heard about it. I'm really confused here.

Default all you "confused" posters

Look ONE PAGE back and you'll see that my sources are confirming the recall will happen in approximately ONE MONTH. Of course your dealers don't know about it yet. You shouldn't be confused ... just be patient and keep subscribed to this thread.

If Mitsu recalls because of NHTSA issue, your dealerships will be required to fix any Mitsu affected. I don't know what this means for Stealths. Just relax & it'll all make sense in a short while.

This doesn't suprise me. Most Mitsubishi dealers that I have gone to don't even have a clue as to what a 3000gt is, let alone a vr4. Its kinda depressing, as it goes to show how much Mitsubishi's employees know about our cars.

Default I agree

I was getting my Dodge Stealth serviced at dealership. Mechanic was asking me is that fast... and I said "Yeah~" and he said this is his first time that he is working on a stealth.... So, I call the manager and I got out of that dealership and went to Mitsubishi dealer. Samething. Only couple mechanic know how to work on Eclipse. Not stealth or 3000gt....

Man that sucks dude. I just tooke my car to the dealer before the NG to get the transmission fluid changed and there were 3 VR4s in the garage and 3 other 3kgts outside there was only 1 other car in there besides those. I think a Montero or something. I thought it was kinda strange seeing all those 3s in there at once but the mechanic said he gets em in there all the time because the dealer is the only one who really knows how to work on them. The guys at that dealership seemed to know all the common problems with my car. They were asking me about my synchros and the leaky Transfercase and active aero which was stuck at the time(now fixed). After going there I don't think I'd trust my car in anyone else's hands. Great guys but you pay for it. I also asked about the Tcase recall and they knew nothing about it. I'll just have to wait till Mitsu can figure out the apporpriate corrective measures and try again.

Rob, you're in Milwaukee, do you know about MoparJim? He knows our cars better than just about anyone in the area and he's right there. He replaced my clutch, upgraded my fuel system, installed a BC and some other stuff for me. He also found vaccum leaks I didn't even know I had. And he's a lot less expensive than any shop. I like that I can help or at least watch and learn.

I've talked to MoparJim a couple times on the phone. He's cool as shit always willing to help me even though he doesn't know me. I was gonna ask him if he'd be willing to help me replace my synchros before I head back to school. but I definately want to be there and help or at least watch so maybe I can do it myself next time. i really want to learn how to work on these cars

do you think they will replace the output shaft and sleeve if they have to replace the TC's?
