Did anyone find out what happens if you have the vr4 in Canada?
Will dodge do the repairs and bill mitsu? Or are the vr4 owners in Canada outta luck? If a vr 4 was imported to Canada could you drive down to the states to get the work done? (and bill mitsu for the hotel and time missed at work ect.) Just curious if anyone has call the MOT and has these answers. Joe |

Hmmm...I just talked to Sheehy Mitsubishi in Manassas, and they didn't know anything about a recall. They said Mitsu is doing a study (I thought that was over...), and they told me that only applies to the 6-speed transfer case. They said they will run my VIN and get back to me. Anybody else have any luck?

Again, if you have a Mitsu in Canada you can go down to the US and get it fixed. If and when a recall is issued. I don't know if they will pay you for time off work but I would think that would work with you over getting it toed in and maybe toed back to your house if it is really that much of a hassel for any of you.
Also keep in mind that if this applies to BOTH Dodge and Mitsu cars then the recall numbers will probably be different for the Stealths and 3000GTs because they each have their own numbering list for recalls. Dodge has over a thousand right now. Each numbered like #345, #798, and A06. (The first character switched to a letter when they hit 1000 recalls. I guess because they either wanted to keep a 3 character numbering system or 1000+ recalls just looks bad.....) I don't know what Mitsu is at right now but I doubt it is that high. I know Volvos are around 300-400. So don't be surprised if the Dodge recall has number like E19 and the Mitsu is like 783, or how ever they list their recalls. For all you 91 recall guys out there make sure they replace the exhaust gaskets if they remove the TC. Ideally you shouldn't ever reuse them.

tell me about it...they don't call it "the asshole of northern virginia" for nothing!...but the people there are pretty nice and it's extremely convenient for me, since it's less than a mile from my friend's apartment and it's right next to the VRE. I can drop my car off the night before, crash at my friend's place, and take the train into D.C. for work. |

the 4WS is separate from the tranny...it is basically your power steering resevoir for both steering racks (front and rear). Try adding steering fluid and see if it still leaks...did goodyear tell you where it was leaking from?

The 4WS oil is actually your power steering fluid...and it is added to/in the power steering resevoir...right under the hood...save yourself money and do it yourself and see if is leaks, just add the fluid to the indicated level on the resevoir bottle and look for a puddle or drip somewhere (make sure car is on, and turn the wheels and or drive around the block and make sure to go over 30mph so that the 4 wheel steering can kick in) park and find the leak, it could the resevior, the rack (front/rear) or the lines that connect the racks...
