What would happen if your transfer case gave up the ghost right now and you waited till the recall went into effect. Would they give ya a whole new TC?

I checked the PNs for the two transfer cases and the 3/S and Eclipse use DIFFERENT TCs. SO that is why only the Ecilpses were on the recall.

If you paid to have a problem fixed on your car and then it went on recall, the dealer should give you your money back. (If you had it done at the dealer that is.) Don't be surprised if they are reluctant though.

what should we do if we have a 91 and dont know if we've had the TC replaced? Can we just call ANY dealer and give them our VIN and they can tell us?

It shouldn't matter how long ago the recall went into effect. They should still do it on your car even if it is 100 years old.
