Yeah my 94 has the stock shifter and its night and day but you are right for the 91-92's the short shifter changes the length of the shifter a good bit, not so much for the 93+'s as those shifters are a little shorter from the factory.

if you dont care about the look of a short throw and you just want the effect of a short throw, look up the 39 cent mod or whatever it is called.

Basically you just drill a hole in the horizontal shift lever on the tranny and bolt the shifter linkage to it.
