Yes. Some 25 splines have a lip on the outside that will damage a seal if you attempt to install it from the outside. Even if it doesn't there is not enough room between the output shaft and the flywheel to work with. Don't worry, it's an easy job. Time consuming for a beginer, but easy. The bell housing is the first to come off during disassembly anyway.
