Exclamation Need info/advice on low mileage 25 spline--fire damage

Ok, I need some advice, I found a very good deal on a low mileage 25 spline TT 5-speed tranny-minus the TC. Has 42k mileage.90 day warranty However,, the engine suffered fire on the top side,, guys GF lite him up with Lighter fluid-seriously.

By hand, one can manually shift the levers perfectly. One can noticed discoloration both white and black(where hoses, etc,) had melted and fallen on top of tranny.. I wish I had pics, but I do not.

Naturally if I get this Im replacing axle seals. My main concern is- do you guys think I should get this or steer clear of it due to possible damage caused from the heat?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated

Look for hot spots on the case. If the case is fine, im sure everything inside gets hotter under normal operation. I would probably take a good look at the axle seals as well as teh output shaft seal. Change the fluid and look at/smell it. Depending on price grab it, You could also part it out. I know VC, output shafts, shift forks are common parts needed.
