Agreed. You've got to seriously whack those things in. I suggest unscrewing the axle nuts on the hub a tad, and whacking the f%^k out of it with a soft faced mallet (or a regular hammer + block of wood).

i dont see how the clip would just vanish. although i do think i could put some more force on the thing tommorow and try to get it in. i really hope i dont need to replace this axle.

the sounds its making scare me though.

get a new clip...if you can. im not sure if its available seperately.


it takes some serious force to pop it in. youll know when its seated. it will pop, then bottom out with a thud. if it moves freely in and out of the trans its not seated. it should be tight.

it moves, but not too freely. im gonna spend more time on it tommorow. i was lost as to what to do today. trying to get instructions over the phone. but its definatley loose so im gonna give it my all and fix this damn thing.

ok. so its definatley not coming from the half shaft on either side. nor is the grinding coming from the drivers side.

im worried it might be the tranny. im gonna drain it tommorow and check the fluid to see how bad off it is.

anyone selling a used 25 spline 5 speed?

maybe ill penny up and spend the countless hours converting to 6 speed.

hobby shop was closed tuesday and wednsday. im gonna pull the t case tommorow and see what the deal is on that end.

unless im retarded, the shafts were all connected properly.

i still cant figure how this happened. the car worked just fine when the lift went up, it just went apeshit when the lift came down

yes i took the ebrake off thanks...
its at the shop right now. i couldnt find the issue.

i think it might be a jacked up axle after all. wierd cause when i checked them i saw no splines and they were firmly in place.

ill find out more tommorow
