I have a problem with my 18 spline tranny. So my throw out bearing was going and so was my input shaft bearing. I knew it was going bad by the sound. So as I was driving home from buying tools(to take it apart) all of a sudden i was driving and shifted into the third, as I accelerate normally it just pops out. Shift it back in and it pops out. It never grinded before at all. When i dropped the tranny the input shaft bearing n throw out bearing was completely gone. What could the problem be? Since it never grinded before EVER, it was buttery smooth. It couldn't be the synchro right? And if anyone can give me a link to a transmission rebuild write up or take apart. I couldn't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!. Thank you in advance!
![]() p.s. I bought the car with a short shifter and sometimes shifting it feels as if there is play. As in when its in gear there is play. Just thought this might help out. |

Breaks all but Xfer case
|
Usually when it pops out of gear like that, its a bent shift fork.
