Anyways, I see from the other posts that things are coming along rather nicely. Order up the three rings in the set for the syncros, instead of just the broken one. They are cheap enough and you'll be glad you did. If you have been grinding into gear and the teeth on the gear or sleeve are worn badly, you may need to replace them. They get expensive. I posted the diagram and price list in my thread somewhere. |

Hi. Got some questions about what I should do with some ordering.
This is my dilema. I dont know If it is worth it to buy a whole nother 2nd gear. Thats probably expensive! The two parts still fit into each other really good and they both are in ok shape. The one is worse than the other but neithor look that bad. I wish I could get some decent photos of them but my camera is a cheap ass camera and it dot take close up shots good. What should I do. |

Post a bunch of close up pics of 2nd gear. I've had to replace mine because I grinded on it one too many times.
I've also broken that inner ring (the ring you broke into 3 pieces) twice. Do you have an upgraded clutch? How many miles on your clutch master cylinder? Clutch slave cylinder? It's not enough to just rebuild the tranny, you need to prevent this from happening again. I went through WAY too many synchros because I didn't replace my original, ~110k mile old master cylinder until just recently. Don't be like me. ![]() Thanks for stepping up and helping him maddog. You're a very valuable member.
