I think the LSD will be good for drag and good in turns were as the insert is alittle better suited for drag only.

Seeing the LSD will halariously be my first and I do mean FIRST upgrade, I dont want to really feel it beeing there. Im only putting it in cause I dont want to be in there anymore.

My car is going to hate me cause she is getting babied soo bad when she is back in good shape.

Damn! That is one clean case (compared to mine).

If you are only going to replace 2nd gear syncros, and the LSD then you have an easy job. You may want to consider doing all of the syncros while you are in there. For the hassle of having to do pull and open that thing again, it might be worth it. I know I don't want to see the inside of my tranny for a looooooooooooooooong time.

I hope you removed all the bolts that hold the mid case to the end case. If so, remove the front diff (it just comes right off) and then remove the middle case.

At that point you can carefully use a gear puller to remove 1st/2nd gear.

Good work thus far. I would only replace 1st/2nd gear if I were you. 3rd, 4th, etc require a press and a lot more time.

OH. I was wondering how I would get the gear off the imput shaft. So you put the puller on the gear, not the bearing. Sweet. I should take the imput shaft completely out tho right? Im going to. I just need to buy some bigger allen keys. I also will need it out so I can take it somewere to press the gear back on.

Since my car has pretty low milage, and was a one owner (a woman) I think all the others are fine. I broke the syncros they didnt wear out.

Ill post some pics. I got pretty far last night. Im at school right now or I would just post them now.

Thank god for the gatecrusher tranny manual.

How do you get this bolt out of the Input shaft!!!! Seems to me like it should have been loosend when the trans was still on the damn engine but the manual says to loosen it now. Now that I have no leverage and all the cases are taken appart.

You don't need to remove that to replace the 1st and 2nd gear synchros. In fact, you really shouldn't.
