You got a thread about what your up too? Id like to hear just why your shit is appart. Hopefully it is for more power reasons. But you werer in the low 12s the night I saw you. You could go 11s on those turbos I bet.

I will be putting a lsd in my trans. I dont think shift forks are going to be needed tho.
I went back the next week on race gas and shifted from 3rd to 2nd RPMs went up to about 10k and the engine ran rough after that. Anyways I tore everything apart and haven't found anything wrong. I think I just overlooked the fact that it jumped timing Anyways I've been away at school (I left like 3 days after it broke) and haven't had much time to go home. I'm probably just going to rebuild the heads and transmission while they're off. It should be faster when it's done at least

Tonight I think im going to clean the housing with brake parts cleaner. After that I might take it appart.

Im thinking about replacing clutch while im at this job. Any recomendations for affordable performance?

Also, Any tips on opening the case up? Which screws did you strip? I dont want to do that! And also, What is gatecrushers tranny instalation mehtod that is really easy? Thanks!
The recall actually specifies to grease those splines but mine were not greased. The dealer assured me the recall was performed on my car. If you want to know about your recall, go to a local dealer and give them your VIN. They can look it up for you. If your TC is not leaking, don't worry about it.

You will get a million opinions here about what clutch to use. I hear that an RPS Max pressure plate with a stock disk is a good combonation. Personally, I went with a strictly stock plate and disk for now. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a clutch now so I bought an Exedy replacement off of ebay. My original clutch disk had really worn springs and rattled all over the place when I took it out. I'm not looking to make monster power yet, so a stock clutch does fine for me.

As for opening the case, the bolts should all have threadlocker on them, so they may be tough. I used an impact wrench and zipped them all right off. The one I stripped was on the inside of the case at the bottom. It's a flat headded allen screw at the very bottom of the case. If you are going to replace that bearing, use some heat to break the threadlocker before you try turning them.

Well, Last Night I didnt even get to open the case up. Im taking forever cleaning the outside of the tranny. It is starting to look polished

Im not done with it. I probably wont finish it till this weekend. Ive got alot of homework to do tonight and I gotta go work now.

I know it will get dirty, but Im cleaning it to perfection anyway.
Ill post a pic before and after later.

Well, Here I am. Tranny polishing is slow and tedious. I hate it. I figure, one more night and it will be all done. Here is a pic so far.

Can anyone think of anything esle I will Need? Only my 2nd gear grinds and the car has only 64k on the odometer. Only reason 2nd gear syncros went bad is cause you have to keep the clutch in while you shift. I guess I forgot you cant let the clutch out before it is in gear!
