Been a while since I have been able to work on my car. Finnally I got my parts back from polishing after like 2 months. I am very displeased with the results but that is as far as I will go with it.
Put the tbelt on last night now that I have something to line up the timing marks with. Ive ordered all the parts that I need to finish the car so I should be able to put in some good hours on it next week. Only a couple more finals at school and Ill be able to work on this thing alot. Well here are the pics.

Hey is there an illustrated diagram anywhere on the internals of the transmission? I have the tranny out for clutch and output shaft replacement but Im thinking it would be wise to check out the synchros as I have trouble getting into 1st and 2nd.

Man you are my hero, wantong to rebuild the tranny and ended up rebuilding everything. I just read the whole write up and learned alot, i want to do the samething. I need to replace the clutch and it might start from there to rebuilding the trans to replacing turbos to rebuilding the whole engine. Great work and keep it up. I guess i am a newb as well when it comes to these engines, but looks like you have everything under control.
PS keep taking pictures, they are great visual aides

Pics from this morning. Ive plumed all the oil and coolant lines for the turbos and torqued them down. Got the thermostat housing on. Engine is almost ready to go in. Need to buy another die to clean up the front turbo bolts that attach the downpipe to the turbine housing.
Ill have quite a collection of taps and dies after this endevor. |
