It doesn't bother me cause I know what I'm doing.

If you want my opinion (based on experience and nothing else)

The guy with the notchy trans and some sort of buzz cant explain it(driver):
He mentioned he had that buzz and "notchy" feeling in his old trans and it's still the same with this trans . He adjusts his shifter and it seems to get a little better .
This to me means that he probably has some other simple problem with his car that still exists even after he installed a rebuilt trans. Or maybe he did get a trans from us that had exactly the same problems as his old one , anything is posible

Audiophobe (Dave)
After the shop received the trans from us I got a call from them telling me that there was a crack in the case where the filler plug goes ,and asked if they could weld it without voiding warranty . Look I know we dont send a trans with a broken case exactly where every single one of them breaks , we do check there, but since the guy was willing to weld it there, I just said go ahead and weld it no problem . Now Dave calls me and tells me that there is some noise sort of a whine but also a tapping like baseball cards on the spokes of a bycicle. I have to see it before I can tell you whats wrong and I'll take pictures and post them here if you want. It could have been us overlooking something YES , I cant tell you unless I see it . I can tell you this though , I've sold more then 15 of these since, without a problem. And I have gotten several calls from Mechanics telling me that they've broken the plug while tightening the filler plug, It happens to the best .
Yes. I don't care about the crack, or even the stripped bolt holes(so much), just the gear whine. And, that's why I have supported you and your rep, on this thread and the other. If you noticed (on the other thread I believe) I said s#*t happens and that true customer service comes through, not when everything goes well, but when there's a problem. And I have every confidence that my tranny rebuild will go well and I will be happy, and everyone will hear your praises on this board. That's why I started the other thread and ultimately picked Kormex!

Here are the 'turnbuckles' on my shifter cables. Let me know if yours are way different or similar. I can email a larger pic if needed. These are in the spot where I get the best shifting. Its not great, still notchy but the best it gets.

i don't have a pic of mine, i haven't messed with the turn buckle on the right but i've played around with the one on the left quite a bit. and i found it shifts best when you turn it so there are about 4 threads showing on the rear of the left turn buckle. i backed the turn buckle all the way to the back. and drove around a bit. turned it a little. drove around a bit. turned it a little and so on, and about 4 threads feels the best. i still can't speedshift and just have 3rd slip in but normal town driving feels better... but it's prolly a little different for every car so if i were you i'd just turn it all the way to the back and then move it forward a bit and drive around and so on

also last night i swapped in some straight redline mtl. and it feels a little better. i'm gonna give it a week or so cause i only put like... 11 miles on the car. but yeah i'll tell you guys if i feel a difference after putting some miles on it

WHen it was mentioned that it was stuck in first gear and you have notchiness shifted and have to stay in neutral, that absolutely sounds like clutch drag. I have another way to check/prove this. When you shift from 1st to 2nd give it a every so slight throttle to take the load off of the trans, if it comes out magically then your clutch is absolutely dragging. You can, but I don't reccomend shift without a clutch this way without hurting your trans, if you rev match, again only do this WHILE using your clutch, and try to rev match on other shifts as well and see if it is better. What type of clutch do you have? Was it changed when the transmission was? Was the shaft the throwout bearing lubricated? Was the spline the clutch disc rides on lubricated? Is the flywheel fresh ? If any of these are unsure you WILL wreck your tranny if noit correctly. A properly operating clutch is paramount for proper shifting!!! It could be yor entire problem. You can also check the freeplay per the sevice manual and also go to stealth316.com and look for clutch not disengaging properly section about the bolt falling out, lot's of good info there.

You now make it sound like you were making an innocent observation but it came off like a criticism or devious. Maybe I'm wrong.
I bet you are an employee and not an owner or partner in your business. If you were you'd understand. If my business was being talked about you bet I'd follow conversations closely. If they are talking about my business, you are essentially talking about me.
I think it's admirable and smart that Kormex cares to know what the current buzz is in the tranny rebuild business in general and about their own company in particular.

(I'm just saying that's how it appeared.)
