A simple one person bleed is to get about 18" of clear plastic tubing that will fit snuggly over the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder. Route the hose from the bleeder screw to a empty container above the bleeder screw. It is important that you have at least 6" of the hose vertically higher than the bleeder screw position. Open the bleeder screw and start pushing the clutch pedal. You will have to pull the clutch pedal up from the floor for the next pump. Fluid and air will go into the clear tube with the air bubbling past the fluid. Normally you need two people because you do not want to suck air back into the cylinder when you pull the clutch pedal up. With this method fluid remains in the tube so when you lift the pedal up you just draw fluid back into the cylinder instead of air. When you see no more air bubbles you are done and can then close the bleeder screw before removing the clear hose. Keep an eye on the clutch master cylinder reservoir so you do not run out of fluid.

The clutch hydraulic system must be bled after any clutch repairs, or any time that the clutch hydraulic system has been disconnected at any point. The purpose is to flush all air out of the system and ensure that the clutch hydraulic system is completely filled with hydraulic fluid.

Take a look at here, miata.net/garage/clutch_bleed.html

you can get one of those one man bleed kits from autozone for about 6 bucks. Just a bottle and hose with a magnet that holds it in place. Makes it real easy. Just did mine the other day. just slide the hose thing with and adpter into the end of the bleeder valve. Loosen it with a 10mm. Pump the clutch. Just make sure you empty the bottle before it over flows and refill your master before it empties.
