My friend has a '91 VR-4 with about 80k on it. He called me and told me he limped his car about a mile home after losing all clutch pedal.
We looked at it and found a nice puddle of fluid below the slave cylinder. Ordered a new one from 3SX, installed, bled the system multiple times until it was good clean and air free fluid. Right after that he is experiencing a few issues... Having to hold the pedal down for a extended period of time to shift into first. Down shifting to 3rd and 1st occasionally causes grinding and lastly up shifting into 3rd creates notchyness. We are going to work on it tomorrow, obviously starting with the least expensive first. I found a video on here by a transmission shop that explains how to properly adjust the master cylinder rod. How much success has everyone had with this? I suppose next step would be changing the fluid with redline 2.3q 50/50 mix of MTL & MT90. Any input on this would be great, thanks. |

he is probably out of clutch fluid and its not disengaging the clutch enough to let the syncros work. try refilling it, bleeding the lines and adjusting the master cyl screw just above teh clutch pedal under the dash.
FYI - small adjustments on the master screw! it makes pretty big changes.

Maybe it was flexible line to start with, not slave?
