The turbo engine went in and the car was converted from ATX to a Getrag 5speed AWD converted to FWD. The motor spun all 6 bearings in 3 days complete oil pump failure. Then once a new motor was purchased wheelhop on solid mounts with a SFR lsd causes the differential to explode. Well i didn't know that untill it happened twice. I lost 2 awd getrag transmissions due to an exploded Differential. I've now ditched the SFR LSD and the transmission now just breaks the axel instead of the differential. Ive replaced 2 axels so far, much cheaper then transmissions. So when i made that post i had 2 perfectly good gear sets sitting in my garage. Recently ive sold them for 100$ now that i read this thread i see i lost out on alot of money by doing that because those syncros were in good shape.

Currently I have several 5spd transmissions, are the syncros the same in 5spds and 6spds?
only some. not all of them

Its a new problem every day it seems, I'm currently leaking transmission fluid from the passenger side oil seal MB837029, Should i no longer be contacting Auto-Craft for a part like this?

I wasn't suggesting a group buy, I was thinking of a fund that people can donate money into that would go to getting parts created that are no longer available. It would be sorta like a 3S charity. The big problem would be deciding who is in control of what. I just envision something where there could be a section for different things needed for our cars, and that people could donate to funds to help support the development of those parts. Like maybe having a fund for Synchros if we can't get them anymore, and having another fund for another part that is no longer available. I'm sure this is just a dream but I definately wanted my thoughts to be understood. It wouldn't be a group buy. No way we would get people to do that. But I personally would donate money to a fund if it helps keep our cars on the road.

Hmmm, do you have proof that the SFR LSD insert was the cause of the failure? I just popped something in my trans (again) and it's sounding like the diff. I'll know for sure when I pull it out but I know it's not gears like the last 2 times I broke things - just sounds far too different. I also have an SFR LSD insert in my trans (though mines an F5 and not a W5/6). I'm interested in what lead you to that conclusion.

Im at work, but i have pics that show the differential exploding starting from the SFR LSD outward. Ive blown 2 trannys and i know 2 other board members that have with the SFR LSD and Andy ES3000TT allso blew up his tranny with the SFR LSD installed. Currently im running No LSD, and es3000TT is running a Quaffie. We have now been running for 1/2 a year with out exploding a differential. Befor i couldnt last more then 2-3 months befor blowing it.

I have no real proof just some small evidance. I like that fact that now I have wheelhopped a few times and it breaks the Axel instead of the Transmission's bellhousing. Solid mounts dont help btw they actually assist in cracking the bellhousing. I have pics with Evidance on that allso. (not 100% proof)

btw, where do i go to order this oil seal now?

Yeah I'm willing to make a donation or whatever in order to help get some of these parts available. I would need to see who/what company I'm donating to, and see the results/progress of my donations. I would want it laid out real nice. I have MONEY IN HAND for this.

I don't wanna sound like I have something running for that type of program, I was just trying to get an idea out there for this to happen. I don't know exactly how this would be set up. I think one of the reputable shops would have to take my idea and do something with it. I just know that I would be willing to donate money to get parts made for our car even if I never end up needing that part. Like I said, this is just my vision, it is not a reality, and I wouldn't be part of the fund. I know I'm an honerable person but I don't have the ability to do something like this. I hope my vision comes to reality. If we getting to the point where synchros aren't available anymore I think this might be the only way to get new ones. Same goes for any other part for our car.

I understand where you're coming from. I know you were just throwing that vision out there, I was lettin ya know that I support that vision as well, and would be willing to put some money down if we can find some one reputable to take a project like that on in the future. That is if everything else falls through.

Cool, I just didn't want anybody to think I was running something. I have no time or ability to take on a project like that. All I have is the vision and money to donate to a program if it is set up in a way I trust.

just relax. Northbend technologies is on the case as I've said before. we have 1/2 for both transm, issions. we have 6 speed 3/4 in production that should be ready in a week or so and we're working on 3/4 for the 5 speed which is also 5/6 for the 6 speed. have no fear. we will have synchros for all
