I'm still working with Applied on that one. As well as all the needle bearings. Once I find a source I'll post it.

I know there are people hard at work on various synchros, great job. I am wondering about a part like the input shaft bearing/seal. I don't remember reading that a company like applied had that sort of bearing??
I've spoken with two different metric bearing specialists in the area (gotta love living in the automotive capital of the world ) I had them cross reference two different makes of this bearing. One came up to a dead end, and the other one was traced back to the original manufacturer's catalog. It was a custom bearing made specifically for Getrag, and is out of production. Sort of having a new batch made, we probably won't be getting any more of these.

i found the same problem with the end side input shaft bearing. applied ind called fag and said to make it happen they would at least need a run of 1000 and the last run was made for someone in korea of 2003 if i remember correctly

Eh, Kormex found another bearing that'll work for the end housing. It's not sealed, but I haven't seen any worn ones in the few trannies I've opened that had one installed.

Don't you guys just love this crap? We're finally getting somewhere with real performance hardware, and we're probably going to be crippled by the God forsaken transmission and stupid $25 parts we can't get.

We got the performance by ourselves, by God we will get the parts ourselves as well.

Learn to spell the word first. That'll help your credibility.

After sitting through your tedious little sig (which wasn't in place when I made that comment 3 months ago ) and I see you installed a turbo engine.

Good for you. Did you also install the AWD transmission at the same time?

If only we could convince everybody to pitch in a little so we could afford a run of 1000 units of any part we can't get produced anymore. Kinda like the 9 second fund thing, but hopefully more successful. For something that would save the life of our cars by allowing us to source parts to fix them, I would pitch in some money.

getting a group buy together of that caliper will be extremely hard.
do we even have 1000 active tt members?

the seal missing should be fine as long as the outer seal doesnt fall off you got a number for this bearing by chance or do i have to work 20 times as hard to get it cuz im in iowa right now instead of chicago?

In good spirit ill just ignore all the attacking. Sorry If i caused that or if ur just having a bad day.

The turbo engine went in and the car was converted from ATX to a Getrag 5speed AWD converted to FWD. The motor spun all 6 bearings in 3 days complete oil pump failure. Then once a new motor was purchased wheelhop on solid mounts with a SFR lsd causes the differential to explode. Well i didn't know that untill it happened twice. I lost 2 awd getrag transmissions due to an exploded Differential. I've now ditched the SFR LSD and the transmission now just breaks the axel instead of the differential. Ive replaced 2 axels so far, much cheaper then transmissions. So when i made that post i had 2 perfectly good gear sets sitting in my garage. Recently ive sold them for 100$ now that i read this thread i see i lost out on alot of money by doing that because those syncros were in good shape.

Currently I have several 5spd transmissions, are the syncros the same in 5spds and 6spds?
