Any ideas on where to get a 3rd gear synchro, 1st and 2nd gear synchro (inner, outter and middle rings) for a 6 speed? Also an input shaft bearing/seal?
CRS: Only has the outter and inner rings for 1st and 2nd gear. Kormex: Only has the middle ring for 1st and 2nd gear Supercar Engineering: Only has 1st and 2nd get synchro for $215. I'm not sure if this is all three rings or just the middle. So basically I'm looking for a 3rd gear synchro and input shaft bearing/seal. It looks like I should be able to mix parts from CRS, Kormex or SCE to get 1st and 2nd gear done. If anyone else has any ideas for the 3rd gear synchro let me know...

thats about it then. supercar may have something, its worth a try. for crs many of the times you have to buy the slider assembly, you cant just buy the slider itself. the assembly comes with the hub, slider, balls and springs. think it was pretty $$$$ a month ago |

I forgot to ask Kormex if they had it, but I'll check tomorrow. Anyways I guess I'll go ahead and get 1st and 2nd from CRS/Kormex and put it back together. Also I guess it's safe to swap the position of the 3rd and 4th gear synchro since they're identical? That way it will hopefully improve 3rd gear and make 4th the notchy one. I'd rather have it like that since you use 3rd a little more than 4th. Once I can actually get a hold of a 3rd gear synchro I'll drop the transmission again this summer to replace it because there's no point waiting months and month on one synchro.Last edited by Jason_99ozGS : 01-31-2006 at 03:47 PM. |

I just got parts today from AutoCraft. 1/2 synchros (all three), 1/2 synchro assembly, reverse synchro ring, 2nd gear, axle seals, input shaft plug, and output shaft seal. It was about $800 total. The 1/2 outer rings are coming from Germany right now and so are $70. They are still out of 3/4 rings.
If your input shaft bearing/seal is not damaged or leaking, then don't worry about it. It's not worth holding off the rebuild for. If you need a 1/2 collar, then you also need a 1st or 2nd gear too. I had a guy confirm that the TT 6 speed Supra 1/2 frictions rings are identicle to ours. I talked with him on the phone and told me that he had them in his hand and could not tell them appart. He quoted me about $35 each. AutoCraft has them now for less than that.
