I hate to sound lazy guys but I really don't feel like reading 60 pages of info right now so here goes... I have a friend that is going to help me put in a new clutch and 1-4 syncros and need to know what seals I need to order and replace when I do this. If someone could list all of the seals and possibly part numbers that I need to order I would really appreciate it. I am assuming I can get them all through CRS except a rear main that I can get throuugh IPO, is this correct?

I spent a long time translating a really nice service manual that explains everything you need to do to rebuild one of these things.

Part numbers are on page 1 of this thread.

Nobody expects you to read 60 pages...but do give it SOME effort, ok?

Interesting news from CRS/AutoCraft

I was in touch with Bill Lane about a replacement bell housing for an 18-spline 5-speed that was damaged during shipping.

They are no longer available from Getrag.

My advice is, if you have an 18-spline and are thinking about replaceing something specific to that model like the VCU, get one now.

Fortunately, things like the syncros and a lot of the 25-spline specific parts are interchangable all the way up to the last 6-speeds made in 99, so those should be available for a while.

As for my bell housing problem, I'm hoping to find a good welder in the area.

Assuming your car still has the original trans, you can tell by the build date on the door frame sticker.

I'll look it up later. It was some time in mid 92 that they switched to 25 spline.
