HydeDW - That spec is 17 ft-lbs +/- 1 ft-lbs. Luckily that spec is listed on the torque specs thread in the 3S Encyclopedia.

Anyone interested in TC parts should get up with Mentor Mitsu. The driven gear in the TC is part of the TC output shaft which will add cost. Another inportant thing to remember is that Mitsu Japan will only sell the TC driven gear/output shaft as an assembly with the mid housing and bearings. So expect to pay a pretty penny for it. It may be more cost effective to buy a new one, but I have not even hear of some one who has priced the parts out yet.

Are you sure Bret? The diagrams in the JDM CAPS show parts, but all of the PNCs come up as **NO DATA** when you try to get part numbers. I don't think they're available.

If I have a chance this week between training classes I might try calling Mentor to see if there's any possibility of tcase parts.

On the three 6-speed transfer cases that I've broken, it has been the gear on the input side of the transfer case that has broken each time.

I swear I saw them in JDM. But now, when I go to look at them, I can't even get the AWD turbo parts to show up. All it gives me an option for is the NA AWD TC. I even tried putting in a part name and doing a search (like how I stumbled upon the JDM PNs for the transaxle internals in the US version of CAPS) and even trying all three chasis codes but even that didn't work. I can't even get it to say NO DATA.

Same with my gear break.
The tail piece 'looked ok'.

Has anyone cryo treated them? A DSM shop told me they'd get a set cryo'd for me if I wanted it...

Check your launch technique also. A lot of guys have had great luck by letting up on the clutch just enough for it start dragging at the staging lights but not enough to actually get the car rolling. This would help take the lash out of the drivetrian to prevent shock loading.

What's the best place to find 2nd/3rd gear synchros now that CRS is pretty much, if not definitely out of them?

Sorry if this has been asked in the previous 62 pages, but I just read the updates and am going off those
