Be sure to find out exactly what comes in that kit. Some poeple will say kits come with all the bearings but usually that means "all the tappered bearings at the end of the shafts and not the needle bearings for the gears". Assuming you would need any bearings to begin with of course.

Once you know what is included in the kit compair the cost of the kit to the prices given by all our current suppliers. I have found that some times it is cheaper to buy the parts individually through a different supplier than to a get a kit from a newer parts source. You should find out if they are OEM brand.

The tranny i just finished came in at around $650 and that was for all syncros and all taper roller bearings.

Everything came from crs except a few bearings

I'll post this question here since it went un answered in the other thread would Kormex sell a 6-Speed tranny with the JDM gears already installed?

I need a tranny rebuild sometime this summer and really want to get the JDM 6-speed

aerOvr-4gto3k - That $600 you were told was probably from a supplier that was not listed on the first post of this thread. There are other suppliers out there but they all get them from one of two sources. A used tranny or Getrag. It's just a matter of how many middle men you want to pay. For example, CRS gets their stock straight from Getrag. Thus their wholesale pricing on most parts most of the time. Getrag will hold all the patents on all of the parts for these transaxles.

l33t - It seems I remember Frank answering this question for another memeber a while ago. If I remember correctly he can, BUT you have to call him and let him know exactly what you want so there is no mix up on accident which will result in drivetrain damage. You don't want to pay for the right gears and get the wrong gears on accident so DEFFINATELY call Kormex and talk to them.

I had been searching for a full synchronizer set and I stumbled upon the following list. By the way this is for a 5 speed...

Would this list be considered a "complete synchorizer and gasket/sealent list"?

Also, for the "1st/2nd set of three rings", i'm guessing this is just the set of the first 3 items above it? (outer, inner, and blocking rings). Also, it says "Times 2" do we need 2 sets of these???

List:

C46 1st/2nd Outer ring 31.13
C47 1st/2nd Blocking ring 15.03
C48 1st/2nd Inner ring 23.93
C45 1st/2nd Set of three rings 70.09 Times 2????
C11 3rd/4th Synchro ring 22.95
C63 5th Synchro ring 65.40
C74 Reverse synchro ring 68.00
296.53

There are no actual case gaskets. Case joints are filled with sealant, Mitsubishi P/N MD997740.

B06 Output shaft seal 10.25
B07 Driveshaft seal, driver's side 4.60
B31 Driveshaft seal, passenger side 4.40
B32 Oil fill plug 1.18
B33 Oil fill plug gasket 0.05
B52 Oil drain plug 3.08
B53 Oil drain plug gasket 0.05
B59 Rear plug(Input shaft plug) 1.18
24.79

That the complete list?

Thanks

1st and second are the same part, so effectively you need two sets (one for first and one for second) If you can find them for $70 for the set I will buy like 10 of them. I got mine from a buddy who vacationed in Japan and he paid $170 for each one.

BTW this thread is getting way to long to read. Brett, can you update the first post a little? I haven't looked at it in a while but the last few recent posts have been review on topics covered like a gazillion pages back.

Also, has there been any activity on the rebuild guide? I haven't had time to search and look, but someone witha link to it (if started) would be nice on the front page of this thread.

Thanks to all for input on this topic!
