I spoke to my friend who is an amazing fabricator. Give me an inner ring thats in 1 piece, even if its used and he can copy it using CAD/CNC for us.

Here's the syncro ring part numbers. Note that the 1st and 2nd gear kits contain all three rings. There are no individual part numbers for each ring. 3rd through 6th are all single ring syncros.

Has anyone thought to look and see if 1st and 2nd can be adapted to a single cone syncro from a higher gear? Maybe that's why they're so weak...flimsy materials. Multi-cone is nice for sissy-smooth little Mercedes shifters, but we want something durable.

Thanks for the above Mitsubishi part numbers Gatecrasher.

Bret, I will contact Getrag USA and see if they would give us their part numbers or exploded views of both trannies with their part numbers. That would make cross-referencing to mitsu numbers easy. I will also ask about minimum order quantities.

Geoffw, what exactly does shitload of parts mean? ~$30k-$50k worth of inventory?

You guys have my support in this. I need serious tranny internal work, and I plan on having this car for a long time. I'm not prepared to have to let it go over a freaking tranny. I don't have a lot to offer, but I'll be more than willing to assist in proving demand or even going so far as to invest in a business / project to get Getrag parts in bulk or have new parts machined here.

Things seem to be looking up here, thanks to all who are putting forth an effort. I have been in contact with CRS to assure them that the demand is there, but I don't know how far that is going to go. I plan to be here for the long run, so count me in on all efforts.

Actually, I'd be willing to buy enough parts to rebuild the tranny twice if it would help in proving the demand for the parts. Can't hurt to have the parts on hand.

I'd involve TRE on this one. Ripple has other things manufactured / obtained from Japan so odds are he'd have the connections needed to reproduce parts.

Please check this thread in the "General" section of the board. I have replied there with some info on one of the options we might want to take to get the ball rolling on this. We need a reseller that will be commited to buying parts from Getrag and will sell them to individual customers. I am prepared to send an e-mail to the senior management of Getrag, Mitsu and Dodge explaining the situation. Please let me know what everyone thinks.

I think this thread should be a "sticky" in the general forum. This is getting confusing with more then one thread.

I think this is a good interum solution, but we should take this out of the hands of Mitsu or Getrag and get someone who makes replacement parts like Topline does for engines to make us all the normal wear items (at least synchros). Are our syncro gears a totally different design from all the Getrag boxes they have ever made? What do Porsche synchros look like?

Good question. I would like to know the same thing. I am not in a hurry to write this e-mail up. I want to get as much info as possible first, and have 3Si member input since the e-mail will represent most of this community. So far I have almost all the e-mail addresses I need, including the CEO and Chairman's e-mail address for Mitsu USA operations. I have all of the USA Getrag management e-mail addresses for their offices in the USA, including the president and vice president. Should I include the parent office's senior management out of Germany for Getrag, and Mitsu home office in Japan, and the senior management of CRS on this e-mail? Where is their main office located out of? I will continue to search my employer's database for as much company/contact info I can find.
